In Process blog for the week of Jan 23

Thus far in the class, I have enjoyed the lesson on abstract words the most. I very much enjoyed the activity we did with the shapes and having to give them names and characteristics. I felt that I learned a great deal from this exercise, not only about abstract words, but about the people in the class. It's really interesting to be able to hear and understand some of the different reasons and meanings behind why different people gave the shapes certain characteristics. I even felt compelled to change my points of view on certain instances after hearing what others thought.
This activity really opened my eyes to see that different people see words in many different ways. This made me understand why in writing I need to explain abstract words in detail so that my readers can grasp the exact feelings and emotions that I wanted them to feel.
The writing assignment after the activity really got me thinking about how I could best describe my definition of love. I still how a great deal of work that I would like to do to the piece before it reaches my standards, but I think it's off to a great start.
All in all, I really think I am going to enjoy this class after seeing what we have already done. I really have a passion for writing and it is something that I love to do and wish I had more time to do. I cannot wait to see what else is in store for me this semester.
