Introduction/Test

Hello! I just thought that I would introduce and tell about myself as a first blog or tester blog. First off, My name is Amber Volk. I am from Norfolk, Nebraska. My friends at college call me 'Vee', while many people back home call me 'Maggie' or 'Maggles'. Therefore, the only time I'm ever really called Amber is in classes or at work.

I am very interested in persuing a career in journalism. I'm looking into both writing for a newspaper or magazine as well as going into radio, with the hopes of being able to write my own stories to share to the listening area. Writing has always been a big part of my life and has always been something I have greatly enjoyed.

In addition to knowing that I love writing, here's a few more interesting facts about me: Firstly, I love Gone With the Wind. I love the book and the movie and have read and seen the sequeal, Scarlett. If ever you want to chat about Gone With the Wind. I'm your girl! I also really love the color green and have for a long time. Most everything I own is green. I've even been known to purchase items I really don't have any use for, just because it's green. Another thing I really love is music. In highschool I played clarinet in the band. I was planning on being in the marching band here at USD, but I didn't have the amount of tim necessary to dedicate to it. My favorite type to listen to is country. I would definately say Kenny Chesney is my favorite singer.

Anyways, I think the above is enough to at least know something about me. I'm really looking forward to this semester and hope I am able to expand my writing experiences even more.
