Memoir Prompt for the week of Jan 23
This prompt is an interesting one and took me some time to think of a good example. After pondering over the question for awhile, I finally thought of something.
When I was young, I had a terrible problem with sucking my thumb. My parents didn't know how to get me to quit, until one day they decided to start putting tobasco sauce on my thumb. I hated the taste SO much. I remember trying to trick my parents by just washing the nasty sauce off my thumb when they weren't looking. I felt like I was SO smart...Well, as one could guess, I wasn't. The hot, spicy, burning taste still lingered on my thumb. Eventually, I gave into my parents method, and the nasty tobasco sauce on my thumb caused me to quit sucking my thumb.
To this day I cannot remember what exactly caused me to try putting tobasco sauce on foods. My dady always liked his food spicy and used the sauce on many of his foods, which is where I picked it. Now I use it on everything. Oftentimes, I even carry it in my purse so that I can have it when I go to out to eat.I cannot understand what would cause me to try something that caused me so much frustration.
