Prompt for the week of March 28
One of the biggest events I can really remember pursuing was going through Confermation in my church. I had been going to church my intire life and I had been in Sunday School since I was old enough to walk. Confermation was when I finally got to make a difference in my church. Back then, my church still waited until 9th grade to do Confermation. Therefore, I was about 14/15 at the time. Classes to learn about the church and that started counting toward credits to get confermed started in 7th grade. We had to do so much community service and various activities in different categories to get confermed. In the end, the points never really counted toward anything, they were just an ensentive to do more in the community and church. I didn't really care if they counted or not, I felt that I really should earn all the points. Odviously they must be there for some reason. I think by pursuing to learn all I could from taking confermation classes and earning all the points I could, I not only learned about my church and community, I learned about myself. I'm really glad that I put in all the time and effort into getting Confermed. The day and celebration finally came. I felt really proud that I went through the ceremony. It was like a right of passage for me; something that made me become more adult and important.
